Our Objectives
- To provide centre-based Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) programmes for a maximum of eight children, from pre-school age. This has the aim of enabling children with autism to advance towards mainstream education, and the maximisation of each child’s full potential.
- To provide the highest quality education and care for the children attending the Centre.
- To build strong partnerships with parents and to work with them for the benefit of the children.
- To encourage parents to be trained in behaviour management and the generalisation of the skills the children develop.
- To develop a research culture within the Centre with the aim of providing data by which the programmes and the children’s progress can be evaluated.
- To increase the quality and effectiveness of ABA through the focus and control of resources.
- To enable older children to continue to receive ABA treatment where they are unable to access mainstream school placements on a full time basis.
- The Highfield Centre aims to act as a training, development and certification centre for people looking at ABA as a career.
Our Long Term Objectives
- To develop in-house services that will benefit both centre-based children and workshop families.
- To gain further recognition with LEAs and local councils.
- To gain recognition for the Highfield Centre as a Centre of Excellence.
